GENERAL INTRODUCTION
There is no exact date when martial arts started. Different sources
give us different interpretations. In general constantly improving techniques
of getting food, verious dance elements andneed for protection from
outsiders gave birth to different systems of self - defense. With years
they became more & more effective. Often they were kept as secret. Japan
is considered a birth place for Karate and China a birth place of kung
fu. Chan ( medytation ) Shaolin Si ( young forest ) came as one of the
styles from the never ending evolution of martial arts. It's made out
of two sets of katas ( forms ): Little Dragon (containing six parts)
and Big Dragon (containing 9 parts).
DEVELOPMENT OF CHAN SHAOLIN SI AND DJU SU KUNG FU IN EUROPE
One of the masters of martial arts during II World War was TJERO KHAN
- Chinese having Mongolian heritage. He learned hard Chinese styles
and added soft mongolian techniques. Chinese Assosiation of Kung Fu
honored him with 10-th degree black belt. He came to Europe in 1960th.
He recieves citizenship of Nederland and accepts european name Gerd
Karel Meijers. He becomes one of the most honored soldiers. In meantime
he meets Klaus Poestges who promotes Chan Shaolin Si and Dju Su Kung
Fu in Germany and later in other European coutries. For many years organization
called Pszczynska Akademia Sztuk Walki was highly active with martial
arts in Poland. After many years board of Masters of the school decided
to contact masters from School of Shaolin. Delegation of representatives
left for Germany with a task of getting in touch with someone representing
schoold of Shaolin. They met Master Klaus Poestges 8th dan. In 1987
Master Klaus Poestges comes to Poland with his assistent Rolf Welters
(5 dan). He leads several practices and awords Polish Masters with high
degrees of 6th dan. Later document was signed explaining that Master
Klaus Poestges has been appointed as a representative for Poland in
European Federation WUSHU in Brusle.
